Every year Football Nova Scotia is proud to host the Football Nova Scotia Coaches Symposium. The continued development of our coaches throughout the province of Nova Scotia is critical to the long term success and development of our athletes as well as advancing the sport throughout the Maritimes.
Certifications and Training
Coaches working with Football Nova Scotia follow the training and certification qualifications set up by the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP) of Canada. For more information about how our coaches become accredited, please download the sheet here.
If you’re a coach looking to see if your certifications apply to working with our teams, get in touch with us to determine which level of training or courses you require.
Concussion Training
The National Coaching Certification Program offers FREE concussion training for registered coaches! You will need a Locker account and NCCP number to access the modules; however, if you have never taken an NCCP course and need a NCCP number, you can create a free account.
You should expect to spend 60-90 minutes completing a module. Each completed module will be recorded on your coaching transcript and may contribute to your maintenance of certification.
